Call leads to drug, theft, burglary charges

Deputy Hopson responded to Pitts Lane in regards to a suspicious vehicle. After several minutes, Hopson contacted Jason Goains and Cory Walker. Goains was arrested for possession of a controlled substance, burglary of a building, theft of material (precious metals) criminal mischief, unlawful use of a criminal instrument and criminal trespass. Walker was arrested for possession of a controlled substance, burglary of a building, theft of materials (precious metals), criminal mischief, unlawful use of a criminal instrument, criminal trespass and possession of marijuana. Both were booked into the Brown County Jail.
In other incidents:
• A deputy was dispatched to CR 489 regarding stolen livestock
• A deputy was dispatched to the 6000 block of E US 377 in reference to a suspicious person. Michael Patrick Day was arrested for outstanding warrants in Ector County and failure to identify-fugitive.
• A deputy responded to a call regarding a large amount of sheetrock which had been dumped on CR 414. Approximately 200 pounds of broken sheetrock was discovered on the side of the road. County work crews were contacted and the debris was removed.
• Amy Ann Gilmore was arrested for assault with bodily injury-family violence after a call to CR 608.
• Jason Brewer was arrested for driving while intoxicated after being pulled over for speeding in a 2003 Cadillac.
• A deputy was dispatched to Magnolia St. after a report of a female being assaulted in the county, who was refusing medical treatment. A female stated she had been assaulted by her boyfriend on CR 237.
