It is with heavy hearts that we share the passing of Vince Sikes who departed this world to meet his Maker on October 5, 2025. His warmth, laughter, and love touched the lives of so many.

Born on 2/6/64, Vince was the beloved son of the late H.L. and Emily Sikes. Vince grew up in San Angelo and graduated from Central High School. Of no surprise, he was crowned Mr. CHS which exemplified his kind generous spirit and magnetic personality he exhibited throughout his life. He also attended Angelo State University.

Vince’s heart was as vast as the outdoors he cherished. He especially loved hunting, fishing, and golfing. Moreso than the actual hobbies, the most prominent love was the opportunities of comaraderie that they presented. He loved socializing and had a distinct laugh we will never forget. In his words, he was always ready for a ‘large time’, perhaps with a ‘toddy’. The next day, he would follow with ‘How fun was that!” He also treasured football season, where his availability was always dependent upon the game schedule.

Above all, Vince was deeply loving toward family, friends, and strangers who quickly became friends. He had a special trait whereby everyone would remember him after just one meeting. They’d also remember his super firm handshake! He had many friendships that aged 40-50 years. You could often find him going through his contact list, making phone calls to check on everyone. He would be the first to say, “I love you.” He wasn’t just well known, he was well loved.

Vince is preceded in death by his parents and nephew, Ryan Sharp. With each of their passings, Vince’s heart weathered profound loss. He is survived by Susan, beloved partner of 39 years; niece Emily Sharp (Rodney) and great niece Presley, and sister Rhonda.

Vince survived by his 2nd family, the Lookas and numerous aunts, uncle, and cousins. He leaves behind a band of cherished friends. May we all carry forward his legacy of love and laughter. Though our hearts are broken, we find comfort in the countless memories and the enduring impact he had upon our lives. Until we meet again …

A graveside service will be held on October 21, 2025, at 2:00 pm at the Jordan Springs Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, please consider donating in Vince’s memory to Children’s Advocacy Center of Greater West Texas or a charity of your choice.

Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Blaylock Funeral Home of Brownwood.
