Several cases of ‘mailbox basing’ being reported

Deputies with the Brown County Sheriff’s office have responded to several reports of mailboxes being bashed. Sgt. Pete Bastardo was dispatched to CR 351 in reference to a mailbox being bashed at the location. Bastardo was called back later that same day to that same county road regarding another mailbox being destroyed. Deputy Scotty Burke responded to a home of FM 3100 in reference to another mailbox bashing. The property owner stated that a mailbox at his rental property, located just up the road, was also destroyed.
In other incidents:
• Deputy Hopson arrested Kadie Stovall for driving while intoxicated and possession of a controlled substance, penalty group 3, more than three grams, less than 28 grams.
• A deputy responded to a home on Hwy 279 regarding a theft. The incident is still being investigated.
• Deputy Cornelius reported that a homeowner on Jordan Lane is prescribed morphine and oxycontin for back pain. The homeowner alleged her sister-in-law illegally entered her home and flushed the medication.
