Early Wednesday afternoon Brownwood and other fire departments responded to a structure fire on the property of Superior Essex in South Brownwood.  A tall building on the East side of the facility was fully involved in flames when firemen arrived.  Black smoke billowed and could be seen from miles away.

KOXE Radio was live on our Facebook page as Brownwood, Early and Lake Brownwood firefighters fought the blaze.  It took about an hour before most of the smoke had cleared but firemen continued to spray water on the facility and its surroundings.

The cause of the fire was not known as of mid-afternoon and no injuries were reported.  Investigation into the fire continues.
