Lieutenant Colonel retired Allen West brought a patriotic message to the stage of the Lyric Theatre on Wednesday night in Brownwood.

LTC West – “I think the most important message for the folks in Brownwood is to understand the criticality of the moment for the State of Texas which means that if Texas is lost to the left, which we have seen happen in Virginia, the United States of America is in trouble.  There is something unique, something very special about Texas.  Our rural communities have to stand up and make sure their voices are heard so that we don’t have these major urban population centers, these counties, that are dictating the political atmosphere of Texas.”

            

West is also running for the Chairmanship of the Republican Party for the State of Texas.

After his presentation, West greeted those in attendance and autographed his books that were available for purchase.

LTC West, who was welcomed to town by the Brown County Republican Women’s Club, served 22 years in the U.S. Army, receiving a Bronze Star. He also represented Florida in the US Congress, however, he now resides in Texas.
