Sheriff and Police Reports

The Brown County Sheriff’s Department has responded to the following calls in recent days.

On Friday, March 20, at approximately 9:33 am, Deputy Scotty Burke was dispatched to the Brown County Jail in reference to a prohibited substance in a correctional facility, report and investigation.

On Friday, March 30, at about 10:59 hours, Deputy Byron Langley arrived at the Home Depot on Market Pl. Blvd in Brownwood.  This was in regards to a theft.  Deputy Langley spoke to a man who stated another man had taken his tools from him, location said to be CR 306 in Zephyr.

On March 20, Deputy Taylor Fletcher took a report by phone of a vehicle burglary which happened on Drisco Drive in Brownwood.

On March 21, Deputy Taylor Fletcher responded to a report of a hit and run at Highway 279.  This was where a blue Dodge pickup reportedly ran off the road and struck two parked vehicles before fleeing the scene.  A report was made.

On Sunday, March 22, at about 14:11 hours, Deputy Byron Langley arrived at West U.S. 67 in Bangs.  This was in regards to a hit and run.  He spoke with a man who stated someone ran over his mailbox the night before.

On Sunday, March 22, at approximately 15:37, Deputy Scotty Burke spoke with the complainant in reference to some missing goats from his property.

On March 21, at around 17:51 hours, Deputy Ashley Harris responded to a call for animal cruelty at Brin Street in Brownwood.  A man found five of his goats deceased.  An information report was made.

On Thursday, March 19, Lt. Pete Bastardo observed illegal dumping at the intersection of CR 189 and CR 192.  There are no suspects to list.

On March 19, Deputy Hammonds was notified of a domestic disturbance at CR 347 in Early.  A man was arrested for Assault Family Violence and transported to the Brown County Jail.  A report was made.

On March 23, at approximately 16:35 hours, Cpl. Hopson took a report about a dead sheep.  The incident was documented in the report.  This happened on CR 261.

BROWNWOOD POLICE BLOTTER

Brownwood Police Officers have responded to the following calls in recent days.

On 3-19-20 Officers responded to the 1600 block of Wood in reference to a harassment call. Upon investigation it was determined that an unknown person gained access to a juvenile female’s Snapchat and used her persona to send messages, without her consent. The investigation continues.

On March 23, 2020, at 12:17 hours, a Brownwood PD Officer was dispatched to 1500 Davis Lane in reference to a theft of property. There is no suspect information at this time, and a report was generated.

On Monday, March 23, 2020, at approximately 18:27 hours,  Officer Donahoo was dispatched to the 3500 block of 1st Street in reference to a domestic disturbance. A report was completed.
