McCulloch and Mills County Fires Scorch Thousands of Acres

According to the Texas A&M Forest Service Incident Command, the Buffalo Creek Fire in Mills County is estimated to be 2,500 acres and 30% contained as of late Tuesday afternoon.  Numerous departments are working to control the flames.

The Texas A&M Forest Service is also responding to a request for assistance on the Gate 5 Fire in McCulloch County.  The fire is estimated to be 100 acres and 0% contained.  Crews are reporting very active fire behavior.  Numerous area volunteer fire departments are on scene.

Fire crews were also fighting a grass fire in Brown County on County Road 192, about five miles south of Bangs.  The number of acres burned is not known at this time.

Coleman County units are fighting a large grass fire on County Road 210.
