Brown Co. Sheriff’s Report

The following calls were responded to by the Brown County Sheriff’s Department in recent days.

On Tuesday, August 4, Lt. Pete Bastardo met with a woman in regards to someone using her husband’s identity in order to apply for unemployment benefits in the state of Colorado.  A report was taken and there are no known suspects at this time.

On July 31, Deputy Greg Parrott responded to Avenue D in Brownwood to assist Brownwood Police Officers with female subject presented with psychotic features and determined to be a danger to herself.  While attempting to transport the woman to Mulberry Street, she refused transport and force had to be applied towards her.  Once at Mulberry Street, force again had to be applied to restrain her to the vehicle.  No injuries were suffered or sustained by the woman or deputies.

On August 5, Deputy Andre Smoot was dispatched to a Burglary of  a Vehicle call.  Once on scene he gathered pertinent information, obtained photographs of the vehicle, dusted for latent prints and completed a report for further investigation.

On Wednesday, August 5, Lt. Pete Bastardo spoke with a woman in regards to theft.  She was reporting her feline cat was stolen.  There are no suspects at this time.

On August 5, Sgt. Taylor Fletcher received a report a broken down car had been stolen from U.S. Highway 84/183 south.  It was later determined the car had been towed by the Mills County Sheriff’s Office.
