Bryan Roy Galloway, 82, died Saturday, May 1st 2021 in Denton, Texas due to complications from a glioblastoma brain tumor.

A visitation in Sanger, Texas will occur at Coker Funeral Home May 5th 6:00-7:30pm.

The funeral will be held at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, 1801 Malone Street in Denton, Texas at 11:00am May 6th.

There will also be a visitation in Brownwood, Texas at Heartland Funeral Home May 7th 6:00-7:30pm.

A short graveside service will be held May 8th 11:00am in the Pavilion in Zephyr Cemetery at the junction of US 183 and CR 259 one mile south of Zephyr.

On December 3rd, 1938 Bryan was born in Zephyr, Texas where he would spend almost all of his childhood. He often spoke of his good fortune to live and work with the good people in and around Zephyr. He was the foreman on a ranch while in high school. After graduating from Zephyr High School in 1957 he went to work for GTE (now Verizon) as a central office equipment installer. Drafted into the Army in peacetime, he served two years in Germany in the early 60’s. He would retire from GTE in 1988. Not one to actually retire, Bryan worked for 2 years in Mexico City converting the Mexican telecommunications system from analog to modern, digital equipment. He later worked in the telecommunications department of UNT in Denton, Texas from 1996-2013 when he retired a second time.

As a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints Bryan served in many capacities including Bishop and counselor in the stake presidency. He knew no strangers, loved to serve others and truly considered everyone his brothers and sisters.

Bryan was preceded in death by his wife Laura in 2015 and his sister Emily earlier this year. He is survived by his two children, Paul Galloway and Ruby Henline, and ten grandchildren: Jedel, Iris, Hayden, Colin, Hazel, Shelby, Lirit, Silas, Miles, and Noela.
