Ola Ellen (Bush) Killough, 92, of Rising Star, Texas went to be with our Lord, Sunday, August 15, 2021.

Ola was born July 24, 1929 to Thomas Harvey and Dennie (White) Bush in Blanket, Texas.  She grew up during the depression and attended Blanket schools and lived on the same property of her birth until the day she married Floyd Killough on December 20, 1946.  Their union blessed them with two children and almost 75 years together.  Ola was led to the Lord and saved in 1949 at a Billy Graham crusade and she served the Lord every day in her church, Southwayside Baptist Church in Fort Worth and the Union Center Baptist Church in Rising Star.  She loved to share her faith with her family and friends and served as a Sunday school teacher, choir member, hospital visitations and as a pastor’s wife.  Ola had an interest in flowers and started with a little greenhouse that quickly became two greenhouses and finally a third greenhouse making her hobby a big venture with over seven hundred begonia plants and some African Violets that she also loved.  She was always proud of her yard and greenhouse and worked hard keeping all of it up.  She also enjoyed making hand stitched quilts and needle point.  Her house contains many treasures that she handmade surrounded by her owl statue collection of over 75 owls.  Her grandchildren made a game of finding all the statues and counting how many there were when they visited.  Ola loved her family deeply and Floyd’s favorite thing was that Ola never met a stranger, everyone was a friend.  She always said about herself, “I could communicate with a jackass, but it wouldn’t be very educational”.

Ola is survived by her beloved husband, Floyd Killough of Rising Star; daughter, Linda Sue Killough Jones of Fort Worth; son, Wendell Steve Killough and wife Judy of Midlothian; grandchildren, Jared Jones and wife Kara of Arlington, Krista Roberts and husband Greg of Fort Worth, Elise Gonzales of Fort Worth, Chris McHam and wife Jennifer of Austin; great grandchildren, William, Wesley, Yujung, Raeleigh, Penelope, Kaden, Kensington, and Kyla; sister, Tennie Simpson “Hootsie”, as well as many nephews, nieces, church family and friends.

Ola is preceded in death by her parents; 7 siblings and a son-in-law, Bill Jones.
