Howard Payne Women’s Soccer Gets Win in Arkansas

CLARKSVILLE, Arkansas – The Howard Payne University women’s soccer team shut out the University of the Ozarks 2-0 Thursday afternoon.

The first period was very competitive and the score was tied 0-0 at the halfway mark.

Freshman Lexi De La Cruz scored both goals for HPU in the second half with assists from Delaney Castor and Savannah Gregory.

Delaney Castor played all 90 minutes at keeper for the Lady Jackets and allowed zero goals.

Howard Payne improves to 6-2 overall and 1-0 in conference play. The Lady Jackets will be on the road to Richardson, TX, to play against the University of Texas at Dallas on Saturday, Sept. 25, at 5:00 pm.
