Weekly Update:
In the last seven days, the Brownwood/Brown County Health Department received 38 positive COVID-19 test results. Of the 38 positives this week, 19 were PCR, and 19 were antigen. Of the total number of cases reported this week, 8 cases met the breakthrough definition. This includes asymptomatic, mild symptoms, and severe symptom breakthrough cases.  There are 6 people currently hospitalized in Brown County for COVID-19.  No new deaths have been reported this week.

COVID-19 Vaccinations for Brown County:

• People with at least one dose – 16,099 (232 additional)
• People fully vaccinated –  14,623 (301 additional)
• Percentage of people 5+ fully vaccinated – 40.50%

36,099 is the estimated number of Brown County residents eligible for vaccination. The Brownwood-Brown County Health Department is offering free COVID-19 vaccinations to all youth ages 5 years or older and adults age 18 years old or older. Vaccinations are available by appointment at the Health Department. Please call 325-646-0554 to schedule an appointment for a vaccine.
