In the last week, the Brownwood/Brown County Health Department received 59 positive COVID-19 test results. Of the 59 positive results,  there were 31 PCR reported, and 28 Antigen reported.

Of the total number of cases reported since the last update, 9 cases met the breakthrough definition. This includes asymptomatic, mild symptoms, and severe symptom breakthrough cases.  There are 5 people currently hospitalized in Brown County for COVID-19. One additional death has been reported: a male in his 60s.

COVID-19 Vaccinations for Brown County:

o    People with at least one dose – 16,464 (132 additional)

o    People fully vaccinated –  15,137 (203 additional)

o    Percentage of people 5+ fully vaccinated – 41.92%

36,099 is the estimated number of Brown County residents eligible for vaccination. The Brownwood-Brown County Health Department is offering free COVID-19 vaccinations to all youth ages 5 years or older and adults age 18 years old or older.
