The National Weather Service has issued a Heat Advisory Sunday from 1 pm to 8pm for West Central Texas, including Brown County.
Record or near record high temperatures of 103-106 degrees are forecast for Sunday. This may cause heat illnesses to occur, especially with prolonged exposure in direct sunlight. The very hot temperatures will be a significant hazard for anyone attending outdoor gatherings.
Drink plenty of fluids, stay in an air-conditioned room, stay out of the sun, check up on relatives and neighbors. Young children and pets should never be left unattended in vehicles under any circumstances. Take extra precautions if you work or spend time outside.
