Mary L. Cole, 80, of Brownwood

Mary L. (Deeds) Cole, 80, of Brownwood, Texas passed away Sunday, June 19, 2022.

A graveside service will be held Monday, June 20, 2022 at 10:00 am at Cedar Point Cemetery in Brown County, Texas.

Mary was born January 22, 1942 in Brownwood, Texas to John and Birdie Lou Deeds.  She graduated from Early High School and married Cecil Cole December 31, 1960.  Mary and Cecil owned and operated the Dairy Maid in Brownwood across from Coggin Baptist Church for over 15 years and in 1980 they built the Sportsman center on Belle Plain Road.  Mary was hard working, loved her community, and a very bright business woman.  Mary was the most caring and loving mother and grandmother.  She enjoyed time with her family the most.

Mary is survived by her husband, Cecil Cole of Brownwood; son, William Cole and wife Shannah of Brownwood; granddaughter, Mandy Nestor and husband John of Westlake; grandsons, Stan Byrd of Odessa, Brody Byrd of Hickory Valley, TN, and Chris Cooley of Brownwood; great grandsons, Jase & Brody Byrd of Brownwood, Cole and Hudson Nestor of Westlake; sister, Judy Hall and husband Rex of Hewitt; and many nieces, nephews and friends.

Mary was preceded in death by a daughter, Mary Kathleen Byrd; son, Steve Cole; grandson, Jordy Ryan Byrd; her parents, John and Berta Deeds; mother and father-in-law, Cecil and Winnie Cole; sisters, Wanda Smith & Patricia Browder.

The family would like to express a deep appreciation to Solaris Hospice and Dr. Amy Tindol for their care, kindness and friendship during this time.
