The Brownwood Fire Department on Thursday morning provided an update on the fire which happened Wednesday night at the OYO Hotel, 515 East Commerce in Brownwood.

According to the Brownwood Fire Department, the amount of damage caused was $75,000. As of Thursday morning, the cause of the fire was undetermined and under investigation.

Brownwood Fire Department received the call at 6:17 pm Wednesday. Six fire units responded along with two units from the Early Fire Department and Lifeguard EMS.

Upon arrival, firefighters found heavy fire conditions on the second floor on the east side of the structure. The fire was contained to the room of origin and was brought under control in 24 minutes.

There were no injuries to fire department personnel or civilians and no damage to equipment.
