Gwendolyn E. Windahl, 90, went to be with the Lord on Monday, April 17, 2023, in Brownwood, Texas.

Memorial services will be held at 1:30 pm, June 3, 2023, at Heritage Funeral Home Davis Morris Chapel located at 800 Center Ave. Brownwood Texas. Gwen’s Ashes will be buried along with her mother’s resting place in Hudson, Wisconsin.

Gwen was born in Hudson, Wisconsin to Conrad Lein and Elizabeth Pixley Lein on March 24, 1933. She was a graduate of Hudson High School and moved to Brownwood Texas in 1965. She volunteered at the Woman’s Auxiliary for Brownwood Regional Hospital for over 30 years. She received numerous awards for her volunteer experience and was recognized for her contributions by the State of Texas.

Gwen attended Howard Payne College and Central Texas Commercial College. Gwen worked at Ross Porter Company, Four Corners and Hamilton’s in Brownwood. She was a member of St, John’s Episcopal Church. Gwen was a talented woman who loved activities with family/friends, traveling, gardening, skiing, and helping customers at her employment.

Gwen is proceeded in death by her parents, her sister Constance Lein, and her brother John Lein.

Gwen is survived by her daughter Debra Young and Ricky Young, her son Scott Windahl and Mary Windahl, her grandson Chris Miller and Cassie Miller, and her great granddaughters Kelsey Miller and Kayla Miller.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to: Brownwood Humane Society, 3016 Milam Drive, Brownwood Tx 76801, as animals were always dear to her heart.
