BHS Band Rated First Division, On to Area

The Brownwood High School (BHS) Band competed in the UIL Region 7 Marching Band Contest at Mineral Wells High School on Saturday, October 14th.

The band won a first-division rating from each of the three judges.

Comments from the contest judges included the following:

Retired band director George Strickland stated, “WOW!! Great attention to musical details!”

“Great sounding group,” wrote Kieth Zuehlke, Director of Fine Arts from Belton.

John Canfield, a retired band director from Azle stated, “Great sounds, great job today!”

“Congratulations to the Lion Band for their outstanding work,” said BHS Band Director David Lambert.

The Lion Band now advances to the Area B Marching band competition in Denton on Saturday, October 21. The performance time will be scheduled later this week.
