Barbara J. Miller, 85, of Comanche, went to her heavenly home Friday the 16th of February, 2024. Heartland Funeral and Cremations of Comanche has been entrusted with the celebration of Barbra’s life. A graveside service will be held 2 p.m. Saturday February 24, 2024, in the Senterfitt Cemetery in Lampasas County, 2725 FM 581, Lometa, TX 76853. The family does not plan a visitation time. Barbara J. Hooten was born January 21, 1939, in Mills County TX, to Kirby and Imogene (Creek) Hooten. She graduated Valedictorian from San Saba High School in 1957. She and Don Miller were married in San Saba TX in 1957. Barbara continued her education studying in the medical field graduating with a Nursing degree. She worked at the hospital as a LVN and Pharmacy Technician where she made a lot of friends. She was a member of the Assembly of God in De Leon, TX. Barbara loved her family, spending time cooking, sewing and gardening. She loved flowers and always had the most beautiful flower beds.

Barbara is survived by daughter Sandra (Miller) DeBusk and husband Jeff; stepson, Mike Miller and wife Terri and boys; brothers, Jim Hooten and wife Martha, Bub Hooten and wife Jan; sisters, Sue Hooten, Carolyn Miller and husband Mike, and Geneva Cahoon; six grandchildren, Jason Covington, Kerri McClean and husband Tanner, Tasha Myrick, Trey Miller, Nikki DeBusk and partner Dave, Jarret DeBusk and wife Ashley; 9 great-grandchildren and 6 great-great-grandchildren; many nieces and nephews that she dearly loved. We will also be adding a new great-grandchild in March, Titus Don McLean.

Barbara is preceded in death by parents Kirby and Imogene Hooten; husband of 40 years, Don Miller; brothers, Cot, Carl, Red & Jack Hooten; son, Kirby Miller and granddaughter, Alicia DeBusk.
