Clarence McDowell Sr., age 75, from Brownwood, Texas, passed away on February 27, 2024, in Brownwood, Texas. A Celebration of Life is will be held on March 09, 2024, at 2 PM, at New Testament Holiness Church in Bangs, TX. Clarence McDowell Sr., also known as Cowboy, was the youngest among twelve siblings. He was born on March 31st, 1948, to Alex McDowell and Gertrude (Moore) McDowell in Doak Springs, Texas. He embraced Christianity at a young age and became a member of MT. Olive Baptist Church in Lincoln, Texas, under the guidance of Reverend Marvin Smith. Clarence received his early education from the Lee County School system and graduated from Lexington High School, where he excelled in track, basketball, football, and displayed remarkable artistic talent. He pursued higher education at Houston Tillotson College in Austin, Texas, before embarking on a teaching career at Gary Job Corp, where he found great joy in imparting trade skills to young men.

In 1970, he married Willie (Vivian) Roberson, and together they had three children: Clarence McDowell Jr. (Tiffany), Tanya McDowell, and Marcus McDowell (Miranda). In 1972, Clarence relocated his family to Brownwood, where he established his own construction company and contributed to job creation in the area. Additionally, Clarence served as an evangelist and maintained his unwavering devotion to the Lord. In 1989, Clarence was blessed with another daughter, Sreyath Carter-McDowell. Clarence had a passion for Western attire and the buying and selling of antiques.

Clarence was preceded in death by his parents Alex and Gertrude McDowell; Six brothers, Evva McDowell Sr. (Erma), Ernest T. McDowell (Florence), George McDowell (Gladys), L.H. McDowell (Norma), Alex McDowell Jr., and Willie L. McDowell (Daisy) and Four sisters, Yvonne Williams, Louise Cochran (Jack), Mae Ollie Davis (Arthur) and Aline Shepard (Sterling).

Left to cherish his memories are; His four children Clarence Jr. (Tiffany), Tanya, Marcus (Miranda), and Sreyath, A sisterHelen Washington, ten grandchildren, five great-grandchildren, and a multitude of extended family and friends.
