Loretta Joyce Bullion, 83, of Brownwood went to be with Her Lord on March 26. A graveside service will be on Friday, March 29th at 10:00 a.m. at Greenleaf Cemetery with a visitation on Thursday, March 28th, at Heartland Funeral Home in Early, Texas.

Loretta was born in Spur, Texas, on August 8, 1940, to her parents Henry and Rena Causey, whom she loved. Growing up the oldest of three, Loretta quickly developed skills that helped her in her chosen career of teacher and mother. At the age of 18, she met the love of her life, David, while they both worked at Peerless Pharmacy in Brownwood. They were married on February 12, 1960.

Graduating from Howard Payne University with a degree in education, Loretta dedicated her career to shaping young minds as a teacher at numerous districts around Texas. She inspired countless students with her passion for learning over her 28-year career until she retired to be able to spend more time with family in 1998. Lolo, as she affectionately became called by her grandkids and friends, could be found spending her days playing 42, enjoying her grandkids, volunteering, and taking care of her family. She was the perfect example of a servant’s heart, always putting others first.

Loretta will be remembered fondly for her warmth, wisdom, and unwavering faith. She believed and fully embraced her favorite scripture, Jeremiah 29:11 – “For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.” She leaves behind a legacy of love and compassion that will continue to inspire and uplift all who were fortunate enough to have known her.

Loretta is survived by her husband, David Bullion, of Brownwood; brother, Larry Causey, of Temple; son, James David Bullion II, and wife, Carol, of Brownwood; daughter, Donna Nemeth, and husband, Mike, of Brownwood; her three grandchildren: Tyler Nemeth and wife, Michelle, of Dallas, Brittany Dunlap and husband, Jonathan, of Brownwood, and Rebekah Nemeth of Dallas, as well as three great granddaughters whom she cherished; and nieces, Mary Wright of McKinney and Kathy Luthy of Brownwood. Loretta was preceded in death by her mother and father, Reverend W. Henry and Rena Causey; her brother, George Causey, and nephew, Jimmy Luthy.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Senior Citizens Center of Brownwood in Loretta’s memory.
