Brownwood ISD Superintendent Dr. Joe Young shared the following information at 12:30 p.m. Tuesday:

Earlier today, an unidentified male called police threatening violence and stated he was on his way to the high school and would arrive in 10 minutes. As a precaution, the campus was placed on Secure status, which limits outside movement while normal instruction continues inside.

Additional law enforcement patrols remained on site for an extended period. The campus has resumed normal activity.

We are grateful for the rapid response from the Brownwood Police Department and our partner agencies this morning. Their professionalism and presence allowed our students and staff to remain safe and supported throughout the incident.

Threats of this nature are taken seriously and will be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law.
