Couple arrested for meth, providing false identification

Corporal Taylor Fletcher with the Brown County Sheriff’s Office performed a traffic stop on a silver Buick Sedan, with a trailer, for a defective headlight. After a positive canine alert on the vehicle and a probable cause search, a baggie of methamphetamine was found. The driver, Morris Mood and Demetria Valenzuela were both arrested for possession of a controlled substance, penalty group 1, less than four grams. Mood also initially provided an Arizona driver’s license belonging to another individual, and also had multiple active parole warrants.

In other incidents:
• A man stated an unknown person had stolen his rifle from the back of his vehicle.
• A deputy responded to N. Hwy 279 regarding burglary of a habitation. Upon arrival, a male on scene provided the name of another male who he claimed had taken several firearms from the residence.
• Lonnie Ray Wooten was arrested for driving while intoxicated.
