Stolen Pickup Abandoned in Creek in Brownwood

From a vehicle being rammed through a gate to several reports of theft and burglary, the Brown County Sheriff’s Department has been busy since last Thursday.  Here is the report submitted by the Brown County Sheriff’s Office of the calls they have made:

On Friday, June 7, 2019, at 08:53 hours, a Deputy was dispatched to Oak Hill Circle.  This was in reference to burglary of a vehicle.  The Deputy spoke to a woman who said an unknown person had broken into her vehicle and had taken items.  A report was taken.

On Thursday, June 6, 2019, a Lieutenant met with a woman in regards to wanting a trespass warning issued to another woman who was located and the warning was issued.

On June 7, 2019, at about 08:15 hours, a Deputy arrived in the 100 block of Slayden Street in Brownwood.  This was in regards to an abandoned vehicle.  The Deputy spoke to a City of Brownwood worker who stated he had found a grey Chevrolet pickup in the creek by the sewage lift station and the railroad yard.  It was discovered the vehicle was stolen out of Brownwood from a local man.

On June 7, 2019, at about 1:20 pm, a Deputy met with a complainant at County Road 237.  This was referencing criminal mischief.  The Deputy discovered an unknown vehicle rammed through the motorized gate to the property causing damage and causing damage to the complainant’s front yard.  A report was completed and sent for further investigation.

On Saturday, June 8, 2019, at 10:36 hours, a Deputy was dispatched to a theft call, which could be handled by public service.  The Deputy spoke with a man who said an unknown person had stolen 2 license plates from his trailer.  A report was taken.

On Saturday, June 8, 2019, at approximately 1056, a Deputy traveled to US Highway 67.  This was in reference to a trailer being stolen.  A report was made.

On June 9, 2019, a Deputy responded to a walk-in complaint of found property.  A man said he found a back pack on Thrifty Highway.  The contents were inventoried and found property report was made.

On June 9, 2019, at approximately 1701 hours, a Corporal with Brown Co. S.O. spoke to 2 parties wishing to report a vehicle was swept off the roadway by water.  This incident is still being investigation.

On June 9, 2019, a Deputy was dispatched to an address on Bluebonnet Hills Drive.  This was in regards to a burglary of a habitation.  A man stated somebody entered his house, opened his refrigerator doors and took a bed from one of the rooms.  A report has been taken.
