Brown County Commissioners met Monday morning. The meeting lasted 10 minutes. All Commissioners were present and County Judge, Dr. Paul Lilly, presided. Commissioners took the following action:
- The Burn Ban remains off at this time
- Commissioners gave approval for Precinct 2 Commissioner, Joel Kelton, to hire a full-time road hand on a temporary basis for the summer months. The wage is $14 hourly.
- Commissioners approved a request from Sheriff Vance Hill to accept a grant of $4,436.80 from the National Rifle Association. Sheriff Hill called this a “great help” as the money will be used toward the purchase of ammunition. Sheriff Hill said his department spends about $10,000 annually on ammo.
- Commissioners voted to accept the latest round of donations for the SWAT vehicle, $40.72, from t-shirt sales.
- The next meeting will be held Monday, July 1.
