
At Monday night’s Brownwood ISD Board of Trustees meeting, Place Two Trustee Diane Thompson, Place Four Trustee Tim Wilson and Place Five Trustee Codie Smith were sworn in to new four-year teams.
Also, after an hour and 15 minute executive session, the Board decided to keep its officers the same with Michael Cloy serving as President, Roderick Jones as Vice President, and Thompson as Secretary.
Also Monday night, the Board of Trustees authorized the school district to negotiate a professional services contract with Coldwell Banker Mike Campbell & Associates Real Estate for the 2024-25 school year. BISD was seeking qualification statements from experienced local real estate brokers/firms to assist in buying and/or selling real property and land required to meet the needs of the district.
Approved on the consent agenda were applications for Learning Acceleration Support Opportunities Cycle 3 grant funding for Strong Foundations Implementation and for Strong Foundations Planning.
Earlier in the meeting, Brownwood Middle School math teacher Amber Evans was recognized as the lone recipient of the “master” designation within the BISD Teacher Incentive Allotment program. TIA is designed to reward and support those who have demonstrated exceptional teaching practices, contributing significantly to student success and our district’s overall performance.
The total payout of $25,526 received in February 2024 and August 2024 was based on 2022-2023 data and 90% (including benefits) will go to Evans, who will receive annual payments based on this data for an additional 4 years.
